Maxwell Imai Weiss

Founding Partner

Max has been active in Japanese venture capital for over 10 years, working with groups like B Dash Ventures, one of Japan’s first independent VC funds, and FFG Ventures, the VC arm of The Bank of Fukuoka, Japan’s largest regional banking conglomerate. He has also guest lectured about entrepreneurship at The University of Tokyo and the Kyoto Institute of Technology.

Matthew Sinks

Founding Partner

Matt was previously a healthcare admin startup founder, and then transitioned to working with family offices, incubators, and investment firms to focus on crossborder capital deployment. He is an Eagle Scout and was a  speaker for the Eisenhower Fellowships on lightweight mobile health records.

Prior to joining PacCap, was head of investment at one of Japan’s oldest Japanese venture capital funds, covering a broad range of stages from seed to pre-IPO. Previously, was with a major Japanese corporate VC and has a background in investment banking in the Japanese public markets.

Kiko Uehara

Principal

Kiko has been responsible for some of Japan’s largest global technology conferences at Nikkei (owner of the Financial Times), where he held global conferences yearly in each of AI, AgTech, and FinTech. Speakers include from government such as Prime Minister Abe and the Governor of the Bank of Japan, to major industry figures like Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani, CEO of NEC, CEO of Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, and the President of the University of Tokyo, and senior executives from Sony, Hitachi, SoftBank, and others.

Dr. Nye is an international relations, trade, and investment executive with more than two decades of commercial and government experience with investment, JV creation, and negotiated sales totaling over $55 Billion.

Oguz is a University of Tokyo PhD candidate, with an emphasis on blockchain and financial technology. Brett Noyes

Brett was the founder of UnBank Ventures, an early stage pre-seed fintech incubator. He has helped member companies raise over USD $100 million as well as be accepted into top global incubator programs. He previously worked for Tim Draper and with Jason Calacanis to build fintech focused investment platforms.

Umur Ozal
